First Time Visitors

We’d Love to Meet You This Sunday

Visiting a church for the first time can come with a lot of questions. Where do I go? What should I wear? What will my kids do? What should I expect once I get there?

We want your first visit to Sweetwater First Assembly to be simple, comfortable, and welcoming from the moment you arrive.

Whether you have been following Jesus for years, are looking for a new church home, or are simply exploring faith, there is a place for you here.

Your First Sunday at SFA

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you walk through the doors.

At Sweetwater First Assembly, our goal is to create a place where people matter. That starts with making sure you and your family feel welcomed, valued, and comfortable when you visit.

What Should I Wear?

Come in whatever makes you feel comfortable.

You don’t need to dress a certain way to attend Sweetwater First Assembly. On any given Sunday, you’ll find people dressed in a variety of styles.

We care much more about you being here than what you are wearing.

So whether your Sunday morning looks like jeans and a T-shirt or something a little more dressed up, you are welcome at SFA.

Come a few minutes early, find your way around, get your children settled if they are joining SFA Kids, and then make your way into the auditorium.

If you have questions when you arrive, just ask. We want to help make your first Sunday as easy as possible.

Where Do I Park?

Sweetwater First Assembly is located at:

940 US-11 South

Sweetwater, TN 37874

Parking is available on the church campus.

We recommend arriving about 10–15 minutes before service, especially if this is your first visit or you have children to check into SFA Kids.

That gives you plenty of time to park, find your way inside, get your family settled, and make your way to the auditorium before service begins.

Coming With Kids?
SFA Kids has environments for children from nursery age through sixth grade.

Not Sure Where to Go?
Come inside and our team will be happy to help you find the auditorium, kids ministry areas, restrooms, or anywhere else you need to go.

SFA Kids

These classes are not meant to just hold kids until service is over. These classes will teach kids valuable Biblical knowledge while helping them grow in their walk with God. They will help ground a child’s faith at a young age, strengthening their roots so they cannot be shaken as they grow.

Sunday Mornings:

Early Childhood – Main building

Nursery – 6 weeks to 35 months-

Preschool – 3-5 years

Sensory Room

We want the gospel to be accessible to every child and to help families feel confident knowing there is a place for their children to participate, learn about Jesus, and feel supported.

Our sensory room provides a calm, welcoming environment for children who may become overwhelmed by the sights, sounds, or activity around them.

The space includes features such as:

  • Plush pillows
  • Calming lighting
  • Engaging activities
  • A quieter environment for children who need time to regulate

SFA Kids also provides resources such as fidget toys and noise-cancelling headphones during elementary services.

Nursing Mothers Room

Moms with babies also have a dedicated place during service.

Our nursing mothers room provides a peaceful and private environment with:

  • Comfortable rocking chairs
  • Soft, dim lighting
  • Privacy for nursing mothers
  • A changing table
  • The ability to continue listening to the sermon

You can care for your baby without feeling like you have to completely disconnect from the service.

Worship

What Is Worship Like?

Worship is an important part of who we are at Sweetwater First Assembly. You can expect passionate, authentic worship centered on Jesus and creating an environment where people can genuinely encounter God.

Some people sing. Some raise their hands. Others may simply listen and take everything in.

If church or Pentecostal worship is new to you, there is no pressure to respond a certain way.

You are welcome to participate at the level where you feel comfortable. Our hope is simply that you have an opportunity to focus on God and experience His presence.

We’d also love to have you join us for Worship Nights on certain Wednesdays, check the “Church Events” for the next opportunity.

Who is SFA?

A Church Where People Matter

Sweetwater First Assembly has been part of the Sweetwater community since 1971.

We are an Assemblies of God church with a simple mission:

To lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

Our heart is to love God, love people, grow intentionally, give generously, develop others, choose joy, and pursue excellence.

But you don’t need to understand everything about our church or beliefs before visiting.

Come see for yourself.

Meet some people.

Experience a service.

Ask questions.

There is room for you here.
